Six decades of unbroken practice.

1961Founded

The Firm was established in the year 1961 at Karachi and subsequently offices at Lahore and Islamabad were established.

Originally the founding partner Mr. M. Afzal Munif (Late) started his practice in 1961 as a sole proprietor of M/s. Muniffs & Co., Chartered Accountants and later became the partner of M/s. Muniff Ziauddin & Co., Chartered Accountants along with the other founding partner Mr. Ziauddin Babri (Late).

Muhammad Afzal Munif

(Late)

Founding Partner · President ICAP 1988–89

M. Afzal Munif served the profession for more than five decades. He served various terms on the ICAP's Council for 16 years from 1975-76 to 1991-92 and served as vice president for the terms 1977-79 and 1986-87 and was elected as president of the Institute for the year 1988-89. He also served on various standing and other committees of the ICAP.

Besides, he widely travelled the world over and represented the ICAP in several conferences and seminars including SAFA, International Congress of Accountants, CAPA, International Federation of Accountants and also represented as a delegate to Government of Sindh and Government of Pakistan in the World Bank meetings.

His dedication and valued contributions to the profession of accountancy and the ICAP will always be remembered.

(Late)

Founding Partner · Lahore Office Lead

He was a fellow member of the ICAP and Auditor / lead Auditors of BSI London. He was a founding partner of the firm and in charge of the Lahore office.

He had over 40 years experience in the field of accounting, auditing and management consultancy services, he also served on various committees of the ICAP. He enjoyed the experience of working on various assignments from Government of Pakistan, Central Board of Revenue, SECP, Government of Punjab and many other institutions including public and private entities on a variety of professional assignments.

His dedication and valued contributions towards the profession will always be remembered.

M. Moin Khan is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and was associate member of International Fiscal Association (IFA) Netherlands.

Shahid Farid

FCA — Vice Chairman

He graduated as Bachelor of Commerce from University of Peshawar in 1991 and Qualified as Chartered Accountant in 1997. He worked in large industrial groups before starting public practice in 2001. He is also member of Institute of Chartered Secretaries, Institute of Taxation Management, Institute of Public Finance Accountants, Institute of Financial Consultants (USA). Mr. Shahid Farid, FCA has more than 25 years of professional experience and expertise. He was/is member of different Committees of SECP and FBR. Mr. Shahid has extensive experience in Feasibility Studies, Financial Arrangements, Corporate Consultancy and Auditing. However core subject of interest is Taxation. He has rich experience of handling a large number of national and international consultancy assignments.

Muhammad Ali Latif

FCA, CISA, CPFA

He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) and a Chartered Public Finance Accountant (CPFA). He is the current President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and he has also served on various Committees of the ICAP. He has over 12 years of professional experience and specializes in development of fully integrated accounting and financial management system for private as well as public sectors enterprises. His experience is spread over a wide spectrum of areas including but not limited to Auditing, Systems Development, Financial and Management Consulting, Preparation of Feasibility studies, Taxation etc.

Salim Sadruddin

FCA, FCCA

Salim is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan as well as a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He has more than ten years of professional experience in the Assurance and Advisory department, and is affiliated with Muniff Ziauddin & Co (MZ) Karachi office for the same duration. Before joining MZ, he completed his three years of professional training from KPMG Taseer Hadi & Co. He joined MZ as Manager Audit and Assurance in the year 2010; and promoted to Partner in 2013 in the Assurance and Advisory services practice area.

Sohail Saleem, a Fellow Member of the ICAP, brings a decade of robust experience at the intersection of financial expertise, audit excellence, and cutting-edge Information Technology consultancy. This unique dual specialization positions him as a strategic advisor capable of tackling the complex challenges of modern business environments.

Arqum Naveed

Arqum Naveed is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan with rich experience in audit, accounting and financial advisory in the financial sector. Before joining the Firm, he completed his professional training from KPMG Taseer Hadi & Co. He also plays role in the training & development of the Firm's professional staff and trainees.
